Holly + Adam

In 2015, we were introduced on a blind date, despite both of us taking a break from dating. Life threw us a curveball in 2016 when we discovered we wouldn't be able to naturally have our own children. IVF was an option; however, we decided IVF was not something we wanted to pursue. We wanted to build our family through adoption. We're thrilled to start this journey and embrace our future family with open arms. We want you to feel at ease in deciding what works best for you. We get it, life can be unpredictable. But we promise to be flexible and adjust how our adoption journey looks based on your comfort level. We'll always keep our word and never waver on our commitment to you.

HELLO! ITS SO NICE TO "MEET" YOU!

A Heartfelt Letter to You,

It feels a little weird for us to be writing this letter to you without knowing who you are. We hope that we have the opportunity to meet you.

We understand that the path you tread is lined with emotions and uncertainty, and we hold space for you in our hearts. We can't imagine the mixed emotions and tough choices you're grappling with. But one thing's for sure: your love for your little one is unwavering.

We are grateful for your willingness to get to know us and are excited to share our story with you. Our hope is that as you learn more about us, you will see our love for each other, our desire to grow our family, and our commitment to being loving parents.

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile.

WHY WE ARE CHOOSING ADOPTION

“WHY WE ARE CHOOSING ADOPTION” Image

Life threw us a curveball in 2016 when we discovered we wouldn't be able to naturally have our own children. IVF was an option; however, after spending time thinking about our next steps, we decided IVF was not something we wanted to pursue. We wanted to build our family through adoption. We're thrilled to start this journey and embrace our future family with open arms.

We hope to have an open adoption, the kind where we can share all the precious moments and milestones. We're not just celebrating for ourselves but with you too, because you'll always be a part of this story.

We want you to feel at ease in deciding what works best for you. We get it, life can be unpredictable. But we promise to be flexible and adjust how our adoption journey looks based on your comfort level. We'll always keep our word and never waver on our commitment to you.

OUR STORY

“OUR STORY” Image

In 2015, we were introduced on a blind date, despite both of us taking a break from dating. We agreed on the date with the belief that we were meeting someone who shared common interests.

Adam arrived at Holly's house and had the opportunity to meet her entire family before their date. They spent the evening at Dave and Busters, and after realizing they didn't want the night to end, they attempted to catch a movie at the theater but failed. The next stop was an indoor trampoline park, and by the end of the night, they both felt that this was "it."

As they say, the rest is history.

We're two peas in a pod when it comes to hobbies: photography, woodworking, and movie marathons are our jam. But, personality-wise, we're as different as night and day. Whenever we have a disagreement, we sit down at the table and work on a puzzle together, as it's impossible to stay angry at someone while puzzling.

Holly works from home as a Senior Manager for Philips Healthcare in Quality and Regulatory. She has been part of the same company for 14 years and has, over this time, grown her career. The best part of her job is the ability to impact the lives of patients.

Adam is a highly skilled master plumber for a local plumbing company. He has been in the field for over a decade and takes great pride in teaching the trade to his apprentices.

Family is the most important thing in life, and we want to grow ours by not only adding a child but also opening our hearts (and hopefully lives) to you as well. We are excited to open our hearts and our lives to you, and hope that our child will have the opportunity to grow up with a connection to their biological parents.

We strongly believe in the value of maintaining this relationship, allowing our child to explore their roots and discover their heritage. It is vital for our son or daughter to always know that they are adopted, and that they have two families who adore them unconditionally. We believe that an open adoption is key to ensuring that our child never questions who they are.

MEET ADAM

“MEET ADAM” Image

I grew up in Salem NH, with an older sister and an older stepbrother. My sister often FaceTimes me so I can see my niece and nephews, and my brother and I keep in touch regularly.

A social butterfly, I thrive by spending time with friends. While bars used to be our go-to spot, we now prefer hanging out at one of our homes.

I'm a fan of relaxing activities like playing video games or watching movies on the couch with Holly and our dogs. We got a couch that's big enough for everyone, so no one feels left out - the boys were especially offended when they didn't have room to lounge!

Holly and I realized early on that family is extremely important to us; they are our backbone and our happy place. Home just isn't home without family. I can't wait to share all the things I love, especially our families, with our child someday.

Adam, in Holly's words:

"Adam has an uncanny ability to quickly learn anything he picks up. He's someone who has a wide range of skills. He's extremely loving and protective of those he loves. I was sick a few years ago, and he would drive three hours to visit me, even if only for a few hours, and would then drive three hours back home. When he came, he would bring me my favorite snacks, so I wasn't stuck eating hospital food. He has always been a strong person, but is never afraid to show his emotions. He is a wonderful man."

Five Things Adam Loves:

  • Relaxing
  • Video games
  • Helping friends and family
  • Chocolate chip cookies without chocolate chips
  • Photography

MEET HOLLY

“MEET HOLLY” Image

I am the second of four children and grew up in Massachusetts. Throughout my life, I have always been driven and eager to learn new things. To keep myself engaged, I have started woodworking, gardening, working on improving my photography skills, and even earned my EMT license.

Currently, I work full-time from our home, which allows me the flexibility to take breaks and spend time with our dogs. This arrangement is especially helpful as it will allow me to be home with our children when they are young.

During my leisure time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, hiking, visiting the library to find new books, and capturing moments with our dogs through photography. Spending time with Adam and doing things together is something that I enjoy- he keeps me laughing.

I have always wanted to be a mom. As a child, I would spend hours playing 'house' with my sisters, and my baby dolls were always by my side. I look forward to the day when I become a mother and experience all the joys that come with it.

Holly, in Adam's words:

"Holly is the strongest woman I know and yet somehow manages to stay positive no matter what life throws her way. She exudes this unbelievably peaceful love when she is around children. She is going to be an incredible mother to our children one day. Holly is fiercely loyal to those she cares about and will do anything to help anyone who needs help."

Five Things Holly Loves:

  • Bane and Rigg
  • Any outdoor activity, preferably being in a hammock
  • Reading a good book
  • Being with family
  • Moon pies

OUR COMMUNITY

“OUR COMMUNITY” Image

We're weekend warriors, on a mission to explore and discover! Whether we're strolling the nature trails, hanging out with loved ones, or hitting up our downtown, we're always on the move.

Our town has the perfect downtown. Can you say local shops and delicious bites? Plus, there are some incredible parks and open spaces for entertainment. Oh, and did we mention the stunning river walking trail?

There are local shops and restaurants, parks, open spaces for entertainment and a beautiful walking trail along the river. This town knows how to celebrate the holidays. In the fall, the trees along Main St. get dolled up with pumpkins on all the branches, and we can't get enough of it. Plus, there's a bakery with bread that's to die for, a theater with shows every weekend, and an old-school ice cream shop.

Our town's got some serious game when it comes to hosting concerts, fairs, and all sorts of family shenanigans in the green space. We've been on ghost tours, chocolate walks, and farmers' market escapades. It's awesome to have so many options so close.

FAMILY TIME AND SUMMER FUN

“FAMILY TIME AND SUMMER FUN” Image

We make it a point to visit our families a few times a year despite the distance. Keeping a strong bond with them and spending quality time is something that is important to us. We know our loved ones will shower our son or daughter with love and affection, regardless of where we live.

In the summertime, we head up to New Hampshire for a weeklong escape to Lake Winnipesaukee with Holly's family. One of our favorite activities during these visits is to indulge in all the local foods that we miss. We can't pass up Tripolis, where we always pick up a box of beach pizza, something that you simply can't get down south.

Every visit is packed with parties and gatherings, giving us the chance to catch up with everyone we hold dear.

OUR HOME

“OUR HOME” Image

Our home was built with the vision of raising a thriving family. Boasting 4 bedrooms, an office, 2 / bathrooms, and an inviting open-concept kitchen/dining room/living room, it is everything we dreamed about.

When searching for the perfect lot, we were adamant about finding a property with at least an acre of land. It was important to build a home where we would have a large outdoor space for our children as they grow up.

Over the past few years, we have invested a significant amount of time to enhance our yard. During these upgrades, we made it a priority to preserve all our mature maple and oak trees. Not only do they serve as a natural source of shade, but they also attract delightful wildlife such as deer and bunnies.

Our ultimate goal is to provide our children with a safe and nurturing environment where they can play and explore using their imaginations without limitations.

Our two-story house is a peaceful retreat, complete with a first-floor master suite and three additional bedrooms, an office, and a bathroom upstairs. Of the three bedrooms, one doubles as Holly's workspace, while Adam has turned the office into his personal game room. Our favorite room, of course, is the nursery, where we envision reading bedtime stories and rocking our little one to sleep. We plan to keep a mini crib in our master bedroom for at least a year, ensuring our little one is always close by.

Our living room is where it all goes down. From Holly's delicious baked treats to Adam's culinary creations, we gather around the table to share laughs and stories.

We fell in love with our neighborhood the instant we laid eyes on it. Nestled away from busy streets, it's a serene and secure area with friendly neighbors, many of whom are young families. Our evening strolls often turn into impromptu chats and pop-up parties! Plus, with excellent schools, daycare centers, parks, a community pool, and a recreational center, there's always something to do.

MEET BANE AND RIGGS

“MEET BANE AND RIGGS” Image

Bane is like most German Shepherds, a sensitive soul at heart. He has a special way of sensing when you're feeling down or upset and will stop at nothing to make you feel better. He'll nudge his way into your personal space until you show him some love, which always brings a smile to our faces.

Bane is well-mannered and will happily oblige any requests. He's our sweet and loving boy, and Holly's best friend. Sometimes, he even thinks he's second in charge in our house!

When we first bought our home, Holly drove 14 hours to pick up Bane, who was only four months old at the time. Since then, they've spent every day together. Bane will be turning seven this year. Despite his age, he still looks like the little puppy that Holly brought home that day.

Riggs is the ultimate life enthusiast, living in just two gears: full-throttle action or snore city. His goofy grin is infectious, and his zest for life is contagious. Riggs' face is always adorned with a blissful smile that suits him perfectly.

Riggs is an absolute riot. His favorite toys are Adam's socks, which he treats with the utmost care. Riggs loves to throw them up in the air and catch them, bringing himself endless joy. However, sometimes his zeal can get the best of him. Last year, he wagged his tail so hard and so fast that he developed a "happy tail" fracture. Fortunately, he bounced back quickly.

With Riggs by your side, every day is a party.

HOLLY'S FAMILY

“HOLLY'S FAMILY” Image

Holly's got quite the crew behind her! Her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a new nephew on the way - it's a full house! Despite not being able to drop by and hang out these days, Holly stays in touch with her siblings through daily texts, phone calls, and FaceTime.

Growing up, Holly's parents' relationship was a great example of love and support, and they've carried that same warmth into their roles as grandparents. Holly's family didn't have a lot of money when she was young, but they always managed to have fun together.

But it's not just Holly's immediate family that's close-knit. Her extended family is a big part of her life, too. With cousins galore, Holly spent plenty of time with her relatives growing up, and they're all still close to this day. It seems like there's always a family party happening to celebrate something special, and they continue to be a rock-solid support system for each other.

HOLLY'S FAMILY

“HOLLY'S FAMILY” Image

Adam's family includes his mom, dad, stepdad, sister, brother, two nephews, a niece, and another nephew on the way this fall. Adam is particularly close to his brother, Art, and his sister, Sara. They speak to each other regularly and catch up a few times a week. Adam is also very close with his mom, Kay, who raised him and his siblings as a single parent. He calls her during his drive home from work to check in during the week.

Growing up, Adam's family tree got a little more complex when his parents split, and his mom remarried, bringing a stepbrother into the mix. But if you saw Art and Adam together, you'd swear they were blood brothers. Holly didn't believe they were related at first. From their looks to their hobbies, the two of them couldn't be more alike!

Adam's extended family knows how to throw a party! Their get-togethers are always full-day affairs, so be prepared to spend the whole day there. So, clear your calendar for a full day of food, fun, and festivities.
