Kelsie + Brandon
Hello,
"Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." Ephesians 1:4-5. This is the perfect way to start any conversation about adoption and why we are here. God knew that you and us would be here before we were even born.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us! We are humbled and grateful our book is in your hands. You don't know us yet, but we have been praying for you for a while now. No doubt you have a lot of nerves about this process--we do too. You want what is best for your precious baby--we do too, whether with us or with another great family. One thing that has been pressed upon our hearts is the very real struggle that you have and will go through with this process. We know that you are an incredibly courageous woman, and we are excited to meet you.
A few years after we got married, we wanted to start our family. After over a year of no success, we went through some fertility treatments, heart ache, set backs all before realizing there was a better way--adoption! We had talked about adopting even while we were dating, and now we are ready. We want to be a part of your story as well. We are thrilled to adopt and cannot wait to love on a precious little one!
We want whatever is best for you, and to be able to encourage you through this journey. We see this adoption process as a ministry God has clearly directed both of our hearts to. Thank you for your courage and love that you have already shown that sweet baby of yours!
God Bless,
Brandon & Kelsie
About Kelsie
I grew up in a small town with my parents and older brother and sister. Both grandparents, and an aunt and uncle all lived within 15 minutes of us. This allowed us to be able to be with family as much as we wanted. My childhood was filled with so many memories, from big vacations, small lake trips, days at the pool and so much more. My parents moved to my hometown when they were in the 4th and 9th grades, they still live there today. It is so fun to be able to go back and see all the things I grew up with.
After high school Brandon and I attended the same junior college. We met through mutual friends. Our paths have a changed a bit after college. But I am currently a loan assistant in our small town.
In my free time, I enjoy crafting, puzzles, spending time with family, watching sports, and most recently camping. We have just begun to go camping and hiking. Brandon and I enjoy going on trips and adventures. Sometimes it's the weekends, some it's for the day, and some times its for a week. We are just getting back into church, but we enjoy going to our new church home.
What He Loves About Her
When it comes to Kelsie, there are tons of great words, but to sum it up, I will list 3. LOVING, she has the biggest heart; she is always the first one to make things better, the first to love any little one, and the first to just give love to anyone in need. CARING, she has the warmest heart, no matter what has ever happened. She will always care about the people she loves and will care for them forever. CONSTANT, she is my constant when I need it the most. No matter what is going on, I know she is going to be there for me. These 3 things are going to make her the best mother in the world. She will love our child(ren) until the end, she will put their needs in front of her, and she will be there through thick and thin.
About Brandon
I am an only child and only grandchild on each side. I loved being an only child. I always had friends over, so it seemed like I wasn't the only one. All four of my grandparents and my uncle lived in the same town I grew up in. It was wonderful, I would call my grandma and she would be there in 2 minutes to do whatever I wanted. My family did everything together and still does. I am very close to all my family and enjoy being with them. My parents and grandparents have all lived in the town I grew up in their entire lives.
When Kelsie and I met in college, we started dating and knew early on we wanted to be married. I have had a few jobs since college, but my current job has always been my goal. I am an Agricultural Extension Agent for the county we live in. I am lucky enough to be working in the county where I grew up.
In my spare time, I enjoy working with animals, just being outside, and spending time with family. Kelsie and I both began hiking and camping. So far, it has been a lot of fun. When we are camping, we are able to focus on each other and our relationship, because typically we have no cell phone service.
What She Loves About Him
Brandon is really the best husband and friend you could ask for. What I love most about him is his compassion and love. When he loves, he loves big. He puts 100% into everything he does, no matter the difficulty. Brandon is the most outgoing person I know and is willing to step up to help anyone in need. He is so patient, even when I am going crazy over something that needs to be done. Being an only child, he wasn't around kids much, but he is wonderful with kids, a true natural. All of our nieces and nephews adore him. Along with all the kids that he works with for his job.
Extended Family
Both sets of our parents are still married. All four of Brandon's grandparents are still alive and married. Kelsie has one grandma left, but at the time of passing, her grandparents were all still married. Because of this we have wonderful examples of love and we strive to continue that to build on the legacy.
Kelsie is the youngest of 3, Brandon is an only child. We also have 3 nephews and 2 nieces (with another niece on the way!!). But the love doesn't stop there. Brandon's job has grown our
"family" by hundreds. We always have someone to call on when we are in "need" of anyone. All of our "Village" is ready to love on our baby and we cannot wait to see that happen.
Our family loves to get together anytime we have the chance. We eat dinner with both of our parents at least once a week. We attempt to go to as many of our nieces and nephews events when possible. We even try to make all the events of the kids from Brandon's job. It is safe to say we love to spend time with those we love whenever we have the chance.
This is Us
We met through mutual friends, and while it was not love at first sight, it took Kelsie a couple of months to realize Brandon was her person. But we have been together ever since. We were both in college and chose not to wait to get married until we were done. We met in January of 2013, engaged in 2014, and married in 2015.
Our lives have seen many big changes; our relationship hasn't always been solid, but we can work through them, and it makes our love and bond even stronger. We love to go on adventures and make memories. Being together for over a decade, there are tons of memories, and we cannot wait to add more as our family grows. We are so excited about this next chapter in our lives and can't wait to start our family and see where God takes us.
Adoption
Where families are united by God and chosen by each other, a bond sealed by a promise to love unconditionally, no matter the storms they face.
Where We Call Home
We currently live in a 3-bedroom, two-bath home. We have lived here for 3 years and absolutely love our small town, of less than 1,000 people. Being so small we have some many people to call on when ever we need anything. We hope to build a house out in the country but until then, we have the perfect space for our family to grow. Our house is just down the street from the school. Where we can go walking on the track or kids can play on the play ground. Our backyard is also huge, we have room for our own play set one day.
In our home is us and our 9 year old Toy Australian Shepherd, Bear, or Bear Bear as everyone calls him. There are lots of kids that live around us, we know when we have kids they are going to have plenty of friends they can ride bikes with and go to each others house. Our small community is welcoming, in fact everyone is so excited about our adoption they tell us our kids will have multiple sets of grandparents.
Life Together
As a couple, we enjoy doing so many things together. On the weekends, we are together 100% of the time (unless one of us is gone out of town for work). We enjoy movie watching, car rides in the country with the roof off, hiking (Brandon more than Kelsie), playing games, or catching up on our shows. Of course, the usual things as well, dinners, errands, grocery shopping, all those "fun" adult things.
Most evenings, you will find us relaxing at home with Bear or catching up with friends. We do love a good outdoor cookout. If you can't find us there, check the calendar for a contest or sporting event nearby; we will probably be there.
We love to spend time together, with or without others around.
Our Promise
We promise to provide your child a stable, loving home, full of laughter and support. We will raise this child to love God, love others, and know they can be anything they want to be. We promise to devote our lives to giving this child all the love, joy, and opportunities we can. We will raise this child to know where they came from and to have a deep appreciation for your love and sacrifice. Above all, we promise to love this child unconditionally for all of our lives.
