We are Kyra (pronounced Kira) and Keith, and we are thankful for the opportunity to give you a glimpse into our lives.

We realize you are exploring options and have some difficult and important choices ahead. You are brave, loving, strong, and selfless for considering adoption, and we support whatever decision you make.

Our Story

“Our Story” Image

We met on a dating app in August 2019 and had our first date at a Mexican restaurant downtown. We both knew early on that we had found someone incredibly special. In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic in the first few months of our relationship, we grew closer and closer over time. We moved into our first apartment together in September 2022 and then bought our first home together the following spring, and a year later, we got married.

We are both close to our families and have strong friendships. We spend a lot of time visiting family and friends in other states or hosting them at our house. We share a love and passion for travel, experiencing new things, dancing, spicy foods, dessert, and so many other things. We have a full and joyful life together.

Why Adoption

“Why Adoption” Image

Even before we were married, we talked about wanting to adopt. We want to share our love and everything that the world has to offer with our child. We've always wanted two or three children. After years of trying and finally learning we can't have a baby, we both knew this was the right path for us, as adoption has been a part of both of our life stories.

Kyra was adopted as an infant from Brazil by a loving and caring family in Michigan. She is the amazing person she is today because of the love, wisdom, and support her parents provided her. Her younger brother, whom we're both very close to, was adopted from Louisiana. Keith also came to the world in a slightly different way, via surrogacy, and was also technically adopted. He is who he is today because of the love and emotional connection he has with his mother. Adoption is a core part of our identities.

Kyra By Keith

Generous, Fun-Loving, Caring

Kyra is the most caring and selfless person I know. Whether it is with her family or mine, friends, neighbors, pets, or even strangers, Kyra displays grace and kindness to every person (and animal) she meets. She is so generous, and she is always thinking of others above herself. Kyra has a great sense of humor and loves to dance around the house with joy.

She passionately cares about her work and various social causes and is committed to making the world a better place.

I am so excited for the day that she becomes a mother because I know she will shower our child with all the love, support, and affection they will ever need.

Keith By Kyra

Kind, Patient, Silly

Three more words to describe Keith are: supportive, smart, and loyal. I have never met anyone as loyal as he is -- whether it's to his beloved Giants or to the people he loves most. That same loyalty comes hand in hand with his unwavering support for family and friends.

And Keith isn't just a pretty face -- he's genuinely brilliant. He speaks three languages, can speak to the history and culture of virtually any country, and has a sharp mind for math.

One of my favorite things about Keith is his sense of culinary adventure. He'll try anything. Whenever we travel, he makes it his mission to track down the best local dish -- and he always finds it.

I can't wait to watch Keith become a father and pass these qualities on to our children.

Fun Facts

  • Speaks three languages: English, Russian, Georgian
  • Loves to cook and eat
  • Favorite football team: NY Giants

Home Sweet Home

“Home Sweet Home” Image

We live in Washington, D.C., and have easy access to downtown and all the amazing museums, pools, parks, history, events, and more that our national capital has to offer. At the same time, we live in a sweet neighborhood that has a suburban feel. Our neighborhood is safe, diverse, and filled with caring people. We bought our home with the intention of growing our family in it. Our house has four bedrooms. One of the rooms near ours will be for the baby. Unlike a lot of homes in the city, we have an outdoor space in the backyard with room for a kid to run around and play. We also have plenty of nearby parks, playgrounds, and recreation areas. We chose our house because it has plenty of space for our family and to have family and friends visit.

Poppy

This is Poppy, our aussiedoodle. He goes crazy for green beans, really for any people food. Luckily, he won't steal food, but he will boop you with his nose until he gets a nibble. Enjoys playing in the snow, snuggling with Kyra, and playing with Keith. He's our sweet, spoiled boy!

Our Travels

We share a passion for exploring different countries. We love to immerse ourselves in diverse cultures, try authentic local cuisines, and embrace the unique history of each destination. We find joy in experiencing the incredible beauty and variety in the world. We can't wait to have our kids travel with us, so we can make family memories.

  • Republic of Georgia - In September 2025, we went hiking in the Caucasus mountains. Keith was a Peace Corps volunteer in Georgia. Kyra got to meet his Georgian host family!
  • Lagos, Portugal - We visited Portugal on our honeymoon in September 2023.
  • Guatemala - We spent time in Guatemala in May 2024. We hiked and spent time on the water with views of the mountains.
  • Barcelona, Spain - After the height of COVID, and people were starting to travel again, we took a trip to Spain in July 2022. We were so excited to see the world again.

Keith’s Family

“Keith’s Family” Image

I am very close with my parents, whom I love dearly. They are nearing retirement and currently split their time between New Jersey and Florida. They are eagerly awaiting grandchildren and cannot wait to be grandparents. My younger brother did a stint in the Air Force and currently resides in Florida.

I come from a family, mainly from the New York-New Jersey area, with many cousins still around there. I also have cousins close by in the Maryland and Virginia areas.

Everyone is excited to have a new addition to the family.

Kyra’s Family

“Kyra’s Family” Image

My family means the world to me, immediate and extended. I grew up in Michigan, and had the best childhood. I hope I can be as good a parent as mine are. Unfortunately, my mom passed away in 2014, and I miss her every day. My dad, brother, and I are close. We talk every week, and visit whenever possible - they live in Michigan and Colorado.

Fortunately, I have extended family across the country and cousins who live in DC that we get to see regularly!

My family has instilled a sense of loyalty, confidence, and morality in me. I wouldn't be who I am without them. I hope to share all that I've learned from them with my children.

Our Traditions

Since we have been together, we have made it a purpose to develop our own traditions together and grow our existing family traditions.

We love to celebrate holidays, such as Thanksgiving with Kyra's family, or observing the Jewish holidays with Keith's family. Every autumn, we go apple and pumpkin picking. Kyra always makes an apple cake.

We love to pick out matching pajamas for Poppy, too. We enjoy family game nights, and during the holidays, watching holiday movies. The simple joy of a full house and coming together for a festive meal. By weaving together these small comforts with the significance of our travels and experiences, we are trying to build a lasting legacy of love, one tradition at a time.

We are looking forward to creating new traditions and memories with our children.

Before You Go...

“Before You Go...” Image

We want you to know, we cannot wait to share our love and joy with our child when the time is right. Our child will be nurtured, supported, and protected by two loving parents, grandparents, and everyone in our lives. We will focus on the child's social, emotional, and cultural needs, and education will be a top priority. Most importantly, we will love our child with our whole hearts.

We promise to always share with our child who he/she is and where he/she comes from, and an understanding of the selfless sacrifice you made for him/her. The most important thing for our child is to know that they are loved. We will devote ourselves to providing our child unconditional love and support, acceptance, and security at home and within themselves.

We hope that you find peace in your journey and assurance that whatever decision you make will be the right one.

With love,Keith and Kyra
