Our Values

“Our Values” Image

We are followers of Jesus Christ, and this extends into every aspect of the way we live. He has loved us with an everlasting love. And because of that, We seek to love others the same way. This extends to you, your child, and every other person we come across. Family is a core value for us as well, as we believe it is one of the greatest sources of support, love, and growth one can have. Family always comes first for us, and this is especially true for any future child we have. Quality time is another core value of ours, where intentional time is made in the day to spend with each other. This allows us to grow relationally, and ensure our loved ones are seen and heard. Time is one of the most valuable things we have, and we show where our values lie in how we spend our time. Your child will know they are loved in many different ways, but the act of simply showing up time and time again is something we strive to do for them.

From a young age Maddy knew that she wanted to adopt. She has always had a heart for children, and wants to be a mother more than anything. She found out she was unable to become pregnant when she was 16, but this never made her sad as she already knew she wanted to be an adoptive mother. Caleb grew up in a family surrounded by adoption. His mother and aunt both have worked in the field of adoption for decades. Caleb's own sister is adopted as well, so adoption was always close to his heart. Above all they just want to give a child a loving home, and believe it would be the greatest honor to be able to become parents.

Our Home

“Our Home” Image

Our home is in a small mountainous town. We are just a walk away from our church and closest school. We live in a 2 bed, 2 bath, with a spacious living room and a kitchen made to create memories. Our outdoor area is made up of our front yard (pictured below) and our fenced in backyard. We enjoy fresh apples, blueberries, and raspberries from our own garden. We love to go out to our front porch to sit, drink coffee and watch the sunrise on the mountains. This is where we have our friends and family over to play games and roast marshmallows over our fireplace. We have a back porch as well, where we grill out and get to watch our dogs play around. We aspire for our home to be a space where people can know they are welcomed, valued, safe, and loved. We genuinely want to love people well. Maddy and I were both blessed enough to grow up in homes that honored the "open fridge" mentality. This is the thought of feeling "at home" somewhere when you can comfortably go to the fridge and open it and look for food. And we want to be able to do the same for those that enter our home. We both love

hosting people and we take full advantage of being hospitable hosts when we have the opportunity. To us it is truly a gift when people visit us and if possible we want to communicate that the best we can before they leave. Whoever steps into our home, whether family, friend, or first time guest, we have a desire to create a space that encourages them to feel welcome here.

Meet Madison

Maddy Kay (Madison) is one of those people that you meet and you are instantly thankful your paths have crossed. Maddy has a heart to love others like I have never seen before. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone feels included and has a way of making sure every person in the room feels seen. Maddy is a woman who fears the Lord and because of that she truly reflects Proverbs 31, "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." She is selfless, humble, compassionate, joyful, and intentional. Literally, every single kid that I have seen meet Maddy, becomes obsessed with her. I can't wait to see her in action as a mom.

Facts about her

  • She is VERY creative.
  • Hiking, rock climbing, and running are her go tos.
  • She loves the outdoors.
  • Her favorite things about nature are trees and the wind.
  • She LOVES coffee and reading.

  • She is a very good cook/baker (by force because her husband is not good at either).

Caleb Through Maddy's Eyes

Caleb is the sweetest man I have ever met. He is always around to help others, and never says no to a friend in need. He loves an adventure! He is always finding new activities for us to try out, and new places for us to explore. Caleb is a man of God, and firmly believes that we are here to love others well, and he shows this not just with words, but with action. He's always laughing, and is definitely the life of any party. He is a role model to his youth students, and a steady presence for his friends. I have no doubt in my mind that Caleb would be an amazing father to any child. He is, simply said, the best.

Fun Facts

  • He loves to travel!
  • Crossfit is his favorite hobby
  • Hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, you name the extreme sport and Caleb has done it!

Meet Sunny and Daisy

Daisy is our sweet golden pup, who loves to cuddle all day, everyday. She loves any attention from people she can get. She is incredibly smart, and knows how to be gentle, especially with children. She is always there to smother us with love (literally). Sunny is a goofy fun- loving Bernese. He perks up at the words 'treat' and 'walk' but we are pretty sure he doesn't know what's going on 90% of the time. He is sweet and kind, and is great with children of any age. He is always happy and always down for an adventure (just like Caleb!)

Our Hobbies

We are a family who is always on the move. We love to go exploring in the mountains on hikes, and are often spending our weekends doing so. We take regular walks with our dogs, where we get to catch up with one another on how our days have gone. We know how to relax as well, and you can find us at the end of the day watching a sit-com or playing video games together (Maddy's favorite activity). We both love spending time with our friends doing all sorts of activities and planning events (most involving delicious food). In short, we know when to go out and enjoy the outdoors, and when to enjoy relaxing on the couch.

Caleb's Family

You should know right off the bat that my mom is the star of the show. My parents divorced when I was about 10 years old, and my mom pretty much raised all 3 of us by herself after that. She sacrificed so much so that my brother, sister and I could have an amazing upbringing. She can't wait to become a grandma for the first time, and is already thinking of what she wants her grandma name to be (her current favorite is GinGin). My brother Cole is the oldest, and is looking forward to being the cool and fun uncle. My little sister Kylea was adopted herself, and will be a great comfort to her future niece/nephew when they have questions. My grandma, who we call MamaJ, is the kindest and most thoughtful human I have ever met. She is looking forward to becoming a great grandmother. They are all so excited to welcome a new addition to the family, and our child will be well-loved by them.

Maddy's Family

With 12 siblings and 45 nieces and nephews, no one has ever accused me of having a small family. There are many perks to having a large family, but the biggest two for me are support and community. There has never been a time when I have faced a problem that my family has not been willing to help out in. I know they will be a wealth of knowledge when I become a mother, and will provide me with all the help and support I need to give a great home to our future child. My parents are of the same mindset, and are the kindest and most generous people I know. They all know of my plans to adopt and are more than supportive. They are all waiting eagerly to meet our future child.

Our Community

“Our Community” Image

We live in a small mountain town, where the community is small but mighty. From our church to our neighbors, we have personally experienced the support they give in every aspect. We have a great group of young adults who have all claimed themselves honorary aunts and uncles. They will more than likely shower our future child with all the love and affection. We have the knowledge and support of the church families, who have all walked through raising children themselves. We also have the blessing of several other couples who are adopting as well, and we already have plans of how we are going to support each other and our children as they grow up. In short, our community is all about doing life together, with care and love at the center of our time together. From fixing a flat tire to helping us move houses, we have never lacked support from our friends here in Washington.
